Though I've done a considerable amount of service at the University of Texas at Austin, I'm particularly proud of the following.
Feminist Philosophy Group (FemPhil): I founded FemPhil in the Summer of 2017. FemPhil is both a reading group and workshop, where graduate students have the opportunity to explore and present their research through a feminist lens. We meet once a week for discussion in some form or other, though we change formats as frequently as needed to accommodate the interests and availability of our members. I'm proud to say that FemPhil has become a fixture in our department.
Texas Prison Education Initiative (TPEI): In the Fall of 2019, I raised money for our department to be involved in TPEI, a volunteer-based organization that brings college coursework to incarcerated populations (via UT-A's Extension School). In the Spring of 2020, I designed and taught TPEI's flagship philosophy course at Lockhart Women's Correctional Facility.
Compass: An Undergraduate Philosophy Workshop: Compass is a workshop for undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds who are interested in pursuing philosophy. It was founded at Princeton in the Fall of 2017, and, in the Spring of 2018, I organized the first workshop in Texas. Each year, Compass introduces students from all over Texas to a particular theme: feminist political philosophy in 2018, feminist epistemology in 2019, and feminist aesthetics in 2020/1. Compass is now run by Karim Nader.
Corrupt the Youth (CTY): CTY is an outreach program that introduces high school students from Title I high schools to philosophy in the form of courses, workshops, and summer camps. In the Spring of 2017, I was elected to co-design and co-teach CTY's flagship philosophy course.
